Forces of CTRL+P





It’s endearing to see that print is still alive and thriving amongst the instantaneous distribution of electronic data.

Earlier this year (March 2010), many of the top US publications supported by the Magazine Publications of America (MPA) banded together to develop a campaign that “targets advertisers, shareholders and industry influencers, and seeks to reshape the broader conversation about magazines, challenge misperceptions about the medium’s relevancy and longevity, and reinforce magazines’ important cultural role.”

I smiled a couple of weeks ago when I visited a friend of mine, and found this in one the magazines on her coffee-table.

Brewed or instant?

Unless I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a vending machine, then brewed please, with generous amounts of sugar & creme. 🙂

Art & Copy





I watched the documentary, ART&COPY, a film by Doug Fray, and it gave me a whole ‘nother perspective on how the ad-heads spin their wheels.

It reminds you that the man assembling the billboard is just as an integral contributor as the head honchos; then makes you realize how a simple phrase coincidentally catches on and becomes the next big marketing campaign… and how the big creative heads (just like us small fish) spawn ideas which occasionally clash with their clients. We’re all human after all.
